Some members of the Rejuvenate Project on a recent visit to the Titanic Building
What is the Rejuvenate Project and who’s it for?
The Rejuvenate Project is for men aged 55 plus living across North Belfast. It brings them together to share skills, learn new ones, work on community projects, socialise and have fun. It is a three year initiative co-ordinated by the North Belfast Partnership and supported by the Big Lottery Fund’s “Reaching Out – Connecting Older People” programme.
There are five elements of the project:
The North Belfast Community Men’s Sheds is a space for men to meet, have a laugh and a cup of tea while working on practical projects of their choice in their own time and at their pace.
The “North Belfast Male Newsletter” is distributed three times a year to 22,000 homes in North Belfast and includes information on health and wellbeing as well as useful services available to men aged 55+.
If you would like a copy of the North Belfast Male newsletter please email email@example.com for a copy or phone: (028) 9075 2990.
Events & Activities
An annual programme of social, recreational, historical and educational activities are organised by the project. These offer the chance to develop new skills and pass-times and to meet others with similar interests and hobbies.
The Brain Bus is a mobile activity unit run by Fold Housing. The bus can be booked through the Rejuvenate Programme to visit and work with groups of men in North Belfast.
By becoming a Rejuvenate Project Volunteer your time and skills can enable men to get the most from their involvement. Volunteers are given training and support and can choose which elements of the Rejuvenate Project they want to work on.
Who manages the Project?
A partnership of community and statutory organisations helped to secure the funding for the Rejuvenate Project and are involved in supporting its delivery. Participants are represented on the Development Partnership group that oversees the project.
