North Belfast Partnership has two new job vacancies

North Belfast Partnership brings people and government together to make north Belfast a place that people will want to live and work in.

North Belfast Partnership wish to appoint an Employment Liaison Officer for the following project.

Local Employment Access Partnership (LEAP)   
LEAP is a multi-agency, cross-sectoral project working to reduce barriers to employment and increase access to jobs for unemployed residents in North Belfast. 

Employment Liaison Officer - Development of working relationships through pro-active promotion of job ready job seekers from the North Belfast area across a range of sectors.  Client advocacy and acting in an advisory capacity to employers to improve the access of unemployed job seekers to live vacancies.

Essential Criteria

- Working with unemployed adults in either a vocational training, education, job placement or community setting.
- Working with employers in a job matching capacity
- Educational attainment in a relevant discipline to the role

Fixed term post until 31 March, 2015.

The post is funded by Department of Employment and Learning, the European Social Fund and Department for Social Development.

North Belfast Partnership is supported by the Department for Social Development to deliver Government’s Neighbourhood Renewal Strategy – “People and Place”.  Neighbourhood Renewal is a cross-cutting government strategy which aims to reduce the social and economic inequalities which characterize disadvantaged areas.

The Neighbourhood Renewal Strategy is delivered locally through 5 Neighbourhood Renewal Partnerships across north Belfast and the greater Shankill Area.

The Partnership wishes to recruit a part time Neighbourhood Renewal Coordinator to work with the Greater Shankill Neighbourhood Renewal Partnership.

NJC Salary Scale Point 26 i.e. £22,443 per annum (pro rata)

Essential criteria – Third level qualification in a relevant discipline (e.g. community development) or

- at least three years’ experience of working in a community development or urban regeneration setting in either a social, education, economic, or  health setting.
- experience of working with local government, funding bodies or community groups to deliver projects.
- experience of generic development support work, with specific reference to committee secretariat work, inter-sectoral and inter-agency liaison, research and funding proposals.
- All applicants should be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office suite of software.
