Peter Kelly, Chairman

 

Peter is responsible for running the Belfast and Londonderry Offices of Marsh Ltd and ensuring the delivery of excellent service to their clients. Peter has worked for Marsh Ltd for 28 years, 8 of those years being spent in London working for the FINPRO division. His area of expertise is Professional Indemnity and Directors & Officers Liability insurance and he sits on the Marsh Finpro European Working Party.

His extra curricular activities include being a Board Member of the British Insurance Brokers Association, past Chairman of the Northern Ireland Region of the British Insurance Brokers Association and a Council member of the Belfast Insurance Institute. He is also Chairman of the Belfast Business in the Community Leadership Team and a member of the Belfast Social Impact Leadership Team for BITC. He is Council member of the Belfast Insurance Institute Council member of the Belfast Insurance Institute current and sits on the board of Development Trust NI.

In his spare time he enjoys playing hockey and is currently President of Belfast Harlequins Men's Hockey Club. Peter is an Associate of the Chartered Insurance Institute having qualified in 1991. He is also a Chartered Insurance Broker.

 

Councillor Pat Convery SDLP, Director

 

Councillor Patrick Convery is an elected member of Belfast City Council and sits on the Board of Belfast Harbour Commissioners. Councillor Convery is a member of numerous Council Committees including the Strategic Policy & Resources and Development Committees and served as Lord Mayor of Belfast from 2010 - 2011.

 

Councillor Lydia Patterson DUP, Director

 

Councillor Lydia Patterson is an elected member of Belfast City Council and the current High Sheriff of Belfast.

 

Maria Morgan, Director

Maria is the current Chief Executive of Ligoniel Improvement Association.

 

Sam Burns, Director

Sam sits on the NBP board and also the board of North City Business Centre.

 

Wilson Lambe, Director

 

Wilson sits on the NBP board and has been a member of the Northern Ireland Safety since 1966 and became President of the Group in 1994. He is very active in IOSH matters and was National President of the Institution in 1998.  He retired from the Construction Employers Federation in 2002 having been their Health and Safety Manager since 1979. Wilson is now a Consultant Chartered Safety and Health Practitioner.

 

Reverend Bill Shaw, Director

 

Rev. Bill Shaw is the Director of the Duncairn Centre for Culture & Arts and Director of the 174 Trust, a non-denominational Christian organisation that facilitates a variety of essential community projects in North Belfast.

 

Malachy McKinney, Shadow Director

 

Malachy McKinney is responsible for the management of the North Belfast District Office of the Northern Ireland Housing Executive and has responsibility for work previously undertaken through the North Belfast Housing Strategy.  Malachy has been District Manager in North Belfast since 2009 and worked and managed a number of other offices over the years including the West Belfast District Office and the Public Housing Benefit and Accounts Office.  During this time he has amassed a vast amount of knowledge and experience in housing and regeneration and between 2004 and 2006 Malachy led the Greater West Belfast Housing and Regeneration Strategy.

 

Joan Peden, Shadow Director

Joan Peden is employed as a Co-Director in Human Resources, leading Workforce Modernisation, Equality and Improving Working Lives within the Belfast Health and Social Care Trust. The Belfast Health and Social Care Trust is the largest employer in Northern Ireland with 20,000 staff. Prior to this Joan was employed as a Director of Corporate Development in the Mater Hospital with responsibility for a range of corporate functions including Human Resources, Equality and Support functions to the hospital.

In her current role Joan and her teams have responsibility working within the Trust on workforce modernisation programmes, working towards reducing health and social inequalities, promoting equality of opportunity and improving working lives programmes for staff. Joan is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD).

 

Conor Ellis, Shadow Director

Conor manages the Department for Social Development's Belfast Regeneration Office North Team which awards grant support for urban regeneration and community development in the 5 North Belfast Neighbourhood Renewal Areas and Shankill.

 

Councillor David Browne UUP, Shadow Director

 

Councillor David Browne was elected to Belfast City Council for the Ulster Unionist Party (UUP) at the 1993 elections and then elected to the Northern Ireland Forum in Belfast North in 1996. He was appointed High Sheriff of Belfast in 2005 and 2008 and elected as Deputy Lord Mayor of Belfast. He was appointed as an alderman in 2011 and in 2012, he was appointed as a Belfast Harbour Commissioner.
