Culture Night Belfast
Culture Night Belfast has become one of the highlights of Belfast’s cultural calendar. Last year’s programme saw over 250 events and an audience of 42,000 people, all within one night. This year, Culture Night Belfast will take place on Friday 19th September, with the peak of activity taking place during a six hour window between 4pm and 10pm (but with some events starting before or going on later). The hub of activity will be in the Cathedral Quarter where the streets and thoroughfares will be energised and transformed for one big party.
On Culture Night, venues, galleries, artists’ studios, historic buildings, cultural organisations, churches and many more will open their doors to invite the public to explore what they do and enjoy free performances. Events can be anything from swing bands to street choirs, interactive storytelling to swinging ceilidhs’ and talks on just about anything. There will be also be a host of on-street activities and events taking place in the public squares, outdoor areas and pedestrianised streets of the Cathedral Quarter. It’s a night of carnivalesque adventure like no other!
Culture Night is for everyone to enjoy and all Culture Night events are free to partake in. If you want to see what it is we do you can go to www.culturenightbelfast.com or visit our Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/CultureNight
Building on the huge success and popularity of the 2012 & 2013 Culture Night Companion Tours, we are offering bespoke tours for groups such as community groups or other interested groups that have never attended Culture Night before.
We hope to engage with individuals and groups who may benefit from more focused and tailored engagement with the event. For those who do not normally access cultural or arts events in the city centre we hope that the tours will be a ‘way-in’ to accessing the wonderful cultural activity Belfast has to offer.
Our experienced guides will work with community leaders to ensure the tour is bespoke to the groups’ interests, age range and specific aims.
Please contact Rosie or Stephanie at Culture Night Belfast for more information or to request an application form.
