Northern Ireland based peacebuilding world arts organisation, Beyond Skin, are delivering an outreach programme to use world music, arts and dance to bridge cultural relations, promote cultural learning and create a legacy of a peaceful, confident and shared society.
Following on the success of the Creative Legacies WOMAD schools outreach programme and the WOMAD Summer scheme, Beyond Skin in partnership with WOMAD are now rolling out our regional workshops across Northern Ireland, leading up to a showcase event on the 14th November. Community youth groups interested in taking part in the WOMAD Outreach Programme or who would like more information can contact the Beyond Skin office on 07877756987 or email@example.com.
Belfast workshops have been part funded by Belfast City Council Creative Legacies programme supported by the European Regional Development Fund under the PEACE III Programme and East Belfast Policing & Community Safety Partnership.
An OCN qualification has also been developed for the WOMAD outreach programme by Beyond Skin and Northern Ireland Children’s Enterprise. Participants over the age of 15 have the opportunity to gain a level 1 OCN qualification in “Understanding Diversity through the World Of Music, Arts & Dance”.
www.womadbelfast.org is now online as a hub and archive for all events past and present featuring photos, videos, press releases, testimonials and so much more from every workshop, showcase event and festival. There are other WOMAD websites all over the world – from the UK to New Zealand to Russia.
You can follow WOMADBelfast on Twitter – which links in with all tweets within the WOMAD stratosphere!
